Poster award Joost van Sambeeck and Sem van Brummelen

Joost van Sambeeck (photo) and Sem van Brummelen won a poster award at the Sanquin Science Day, held in the NEMO science museum on 24th November 2017.

They developed a mathematical model to investigate the impact of blood group specific issuing policies for inventory management instead of the currently used first-in-first-out issuing policy. They have shown that rare blood units can be saved, whilst supply levels are retained.
