Researcher Suzanne Gunnink takes on a complex challenge

This month Sanquin researcher Suzanne Gunnink started as a fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS). This part of the University of Amsterdam brings together excellent researchers from various academic disciplines to work on complex scientific challenges.

In the meantime, Suzanne will remain involved with her research at Sanquin, where she investigates the complex use of blood transfusion products for preterm infants in intensive care units.

At the IAS she will investigate how she can apply methods from the so-called Complexity Theory in her medical research. In the video she explains what that means.

In this article from the IAS, Suzanne further explains how she hopes that her fellowship will contribute to even better care for premature infants, and how this type of research may also help further medical science in the future.
