Research interests
The aim of my research is to develop innovative protein therapeutics for hemostatic disorders and my long lasting interest is in the biology of hemostatic proteins, with particular emphasis on von Willebrand factor and Factor VIII. The goals are (1) to understand the interaction of hemostatic proteins with endocytic receptors and (2) to identify communication networks between the hemostatic system and the vasculature. Unravelling these interactions and signaling networks is essential to develop rational approaches for the design of improved therapeutic coagulation proteins and to reveal novel targets for therapeutic intervention in hemostatic disorders.
Technology
- Confocal laser scanning microscopy
- Surface Plasmon Resonance analysis using Biacore
- Recombinant protein production and immunoaffinity purification
- Mass spectrometry-based quantitative phosphoproteomics
